Description of action

Climate change poses serious questions for growth and development. At the same time, companies already committed to CO2 emission reductions know that these measures deliver cost savings, competitive advantages and enhanced corporate reputation. As a result, many businesses and organizations are defining strategies to adapt to this new landscape of risk and opportunity.

To respond to this new demand, GERES Cambodia has developed a carbon audit service to assist the private and public sectors with the process of reducing their carbon footprint, from awareness-raising and greenhouse gas emission calculations through to designing and implementing a carbon strategy.

These audits include:

  • Raising staff awareness on climate change
  • Carbon footprint calculation, applying approved methodologies
  • Targeted recommendations for achieving emission reductions
  • Advice on carbon offset opportunities, with a focus on environmental benefits and social responsibility
  • Development of an in-house greenhouse gas emission inventory tool for companies to do their own emission monitoring after the initial audit
