Carbon Finance technical data sheets

These technical data sheets have been designed and made by GERES in the context of the EthiCarbone project in Western Africa. The project has been initated in Mali in partnership with Nexus and Réseau Carbone. It aims to facilitate acces to Carbon Finance for African projects initiators. The long term purpose is to participate to the emergence of a regional carbon market that is fair, regulated and transparent. Small projects initiators (NGO's and SME's) and private investors are the main targets as well as EthiCarbone beneficiairies.

The teaching materials explores Carbon Finance in 8 technical data sheets. These sheets help to understand Climate Change and mechanims that has been established by the Kyoto Protocol to reduce greenhouse gases. It is a deep initiation to understand carbon markets, their functioning and the differents steps of a project cycle. These data sheets are particularly useful and adapted for potentially eligible projects initiators to Carbon Finance. Indeed, access to reliable information is a way to reinforce their knowledge, skills and involvement to establish fair relations in the sector. These data sheets have been created with a will to promote transparency in the field of Carbon Finance. 

Those data sheets have been written by Alessio Bonatti and published by Mathieu Grapeloup under the supervision of Anne Calvel and with the participation of the Climate Change Unit.
