Donations help us disseminate clean technologies to roll back poverty and preserve the environment in more than 15 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia.
In France, any donation made to GERES is tax deductible, from income tax (at a rate of 66% up to a maximum of 20% of taxable income) in the case of individuals and from corporation tax (at a rate of 60% within a maximum of 0.5% of turnover) in the case of businesses. A tax receipt will be sent to you on receipt of your donation. Our regular donors will receive a single tax receipt at the end of the calendar year.
To make a donation by check, you can print and fill out the downloadable form below.
Please send it to us by snail mail along with your donation.
Choosing to give regularly is a simple, practical and effective solution to confirm your long-term support:
- It enables you to spread your contribution over the year and you can increase, reduce or suspend it as you wish
- For GERES, receiving your donations via direct debit provides regular resources that ease the task of planning ahead
- Regular donations mean less paperwork: you will receive a single tax receipt at the end of the year corresponding to the amount of your donation over the past calendar year
GERES invests 88% of its overall budget in field activities and their management. Only 13% goes towards the organization's running costs: monitoring and supervision of all projects by HQ, fundraising and communications.
Your donation helps us to take action in France and around the world to improve the living conditions of vulnerable communities, combat energy poverty and foster economic development with due respect for ecosystems and our planet.
You will be helping us in particular to fund training in bioclimatic architecture for artisans in the building sector in central Asia, access to productive energy for farmers and entrepreneurs in West Africa, efforts to combat the energy poverty faced by low-income households as well as waste reduction in France, the conservation of forests in South-East Asia. You will contribute to the preservation of the environment and the creation of wealth and new jobs.
Some examples of what your donations have supported this year in the Essential 2015...
IDEAS quality label
After receiving support with its governance and financial management and monitoring of its effectiveness, GERES was awarded the IDEAS quality label that certifies its high level of compliance with the requirements of the IDEAS good practice guide, especially regarding the impact of the donations it receives.
See GERES fact sheet on the IDEAS website (in French only)
GERES transparency and sound management is regularly acknowledged.
- We were evaluated in 2010 and 2011 by the Prometheus barometer and, with 10 out of 10, received the top score each year.
- The Capital magazine ranked GERES among the best managed NGOs. The survey cover almost all French associations.
GERES financial statements and annual reports are published every year on this website. You are free to consult them.
GERES provides all its partners, both public and private funders, with specific technical and financial reports enabling them to monitor the implementation of the programs and make sure that funds have been properly allocated.
Finally, we send our donors a quarterly newsletter on the progress of our activities, along with GERES annual reports and financial statements.
Audits and evaluations
Most of our programs are co-funded by demanding and very experienced public funders, such as the European Commission and French Development Agency. Consequently, GERES is regularly subject to evaluations and financial audits, both internal and external.
In addition, as provided by law, GERES accounts are audited and certified by an independent auditor each year who gives a detailed opinion on the association's use of resources. This report is available on this website.
Your donation can also be tax-deductible if you live in a country that is part of the Transnational Giving Europe network.
The Transnational Giving Europe system enables an organization established in your country to receive your donation and issue the corresponding tax receipt. Your donation will then be sent directly to us.
