Since 2007, around a dozen schools in the Bouches-du-Rhône area have been involved in this operation looking at the technical and economic feasibility of implementing eco-friendly waste management in a middle school. The aim is to design a methodology and develop practical tools for distribution to all middle schools in the area. Support has therefore been provided to five middle schools in implementing waste management activities and a methodological guide has been designed.

In 2011, the guide will be posted on the Departmental Council website. A group of 3 schools will test the guide in order to set up a plan of action regarding ecological waste management.
