Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency through micro-finance.
Energy consumption takes an important part of household budgets in Morocco. A preliminary feasibility study conducted with the partner NGO PlaNet Finance highlighted important opportunities for the microfinance sector involvement in the financing of improved energy products. For a three years period and with a total budget of 1.35 million of euros, the FREEME project aims to strengthen the technical capacity of local institutions and encourage micro-finance to create financial models to facilitate access to their customers to renewable energy and method of efficiency energy.
