Energy efficiency in Indian Himalayas

Discover the interview of Alain Guinebault, GERES General Manager and Dominique-Cécile Varnat, from Abbé Pierre Foundation, partner of GERES programme in Indian Himalayas.

The Passive Solar House (PSH) project, a four-year project from 2008 to 2012, is designed to disseminate energy-efficient methods in 1,000 domestic and community buildings in about a hundred villages of Indian Himalaya region. These energy-efficient techniques highly improve local living conditions and encourage hand-crafted activities (weaving, spinning) development in order to enhance the local economy.
