Its mission is to participate in funding development, essentially in poor countries . The AFD supports public authorities, the private sector and local voluntary sector networks in implementing economic and social projects on five continents and in the French overseas territories. It aims at facilitating the protection of the global environment in sustainable development projects in developing countries and countries in transition. www.ffem.fr IEPF (Institut de l'énergie et de l'environnement de la Francophonie) This energy and environment institute is a subsidiary of the International Organization of La Francophonie. It was set up in 1988 by heads of state and government of the French-speaking countries wishing to undertake joint action aimed at developing the energy sector in member countries. French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs The Department of International Co-Operation and Development represents the French government within European bodies and at workshops concerning climate change and development.
