Certification and quality seal

IDEAS quality label

After receiving support with its governance and financial management and monitoring of its effectiveness, GERES was awarded the IDEAS quality label to certify its high level of compliance with the requirements of the IDEAS good practice guide, particularly as regards monitoring the impact of the donations it receives.

Stages in the approach

With the threefold objective of structuring, improvement and greater transparency, GERES has been committed to a quality assurance approach with the IDEAS association in 2012. This initiative provides for several stages – support, evaluation and compliance – with a view to obtaining the IDEAS quality seal during 2014.

Following an initial assessment phase, GERES had optimized its procedures and practices. In October 2014, GERES achieved a satisfactory score against the 120 indicators in the IDEAS Guide with External experts who carried out the final evaluation of these indicators toward getting the quality label. In 2019, the label was renewed.

The IDEAS seal certifies the sound management of an association and may facilitate fundraising from funders and private donors.

IDEAS, a public interest association, awards its seal to associations and foundations which meet quality standards in terms of their governance, efficiency/performance and financial management.

It offers free personalized assistance to help improve practices, organization, efficiency and transparency.

The IDEAS Guide produced for the purpose covers three major themes: governance, financial management and performance monitoring.
