In collaboration with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GACC), GERES Cambodia has served as the in-country co-host of the Clean Cooking Forum 2013: Igniting Change, Fueling Markets & Sparking Adoption held in Phnom Penh from March 18-22, 2013. The goal of the Forum was to further a market-based approach to the global adoption of clean cooking solutions, and to continue to drive innovations in research, market development, standards and testing, project finance, and policy development.
By choosing Cambodia as the 2013 hosting country, the GACC, an initiative led by the United Nations Foundation, has decided to draw the attention of all members on the success of clean cooking projects in the area. After celebrating the dissemination of the New Lao Stove number 2 million in Cambodia, GERES received an honour award during the Clean Cooking Forum, thus confirming its position of model for many organizations working in the same field.
