Energy poverty in Marseille: home visits to make an energy difference!

ACHIEVE is an EU wide project supported by the Intelligent Energy Europe program, to fight against fuel poverty. By analysing and learning from best practises throughout Europe, it develops a mixture of actions plans and practical solutions to identify those in most need in specific areas, evaluate options and reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions. ACHIEVE partners work with home owners, tenants, landlords and any other relevant organisations.

GERES has been implementing the ACHIEVE project in and around Marseille since 2011. In 2012, five people on return-to-work schemes were trained to act as energy advisers carrying out home visits to low-income households. Looking at the household’s accommodation and consumption habits enables the adviser to install small appliances and suggest appropriate eco-friendly action.

To celebrate the first phase of this project and conduct a mid-point review, GERES invites you to come to participate in a full day of workshops and debates on Wednesday April 16th, 2014.

Wednesday April 16, 2014 @ 9:30am-4:30pm | Marseille | “Centre Social des Hauts de Mazargues”
Come and learn more about our experience: can this home-visiting operation be an efficient tool to fight energy poverty?
