Soon, the opening of the Clean Cooking Forum

In collaboration with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, GERES Cambodia is serving as the in-country co-host of the Clean Cooking Forum 2013: Igniting Change, Fueling Markets & Sparking Adoption, to be held in Phnom Penh from March 18-22, 2013. The goal of the Forum is to further a market-based approach to the global adoption of clean cooking solutions, and to continue to drive innovations in research, market development, standards and testing, project finance, and policy development.

By choosing Cambodia as the 2013 hosting country, the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, an initiative led by the United Nations Foundation, has decided to draw the attention of all member on the success of clean cooking projects in the area. After celebrating the dissemination of the New Lao Stove number 2 million in Cambodia, GERES holds the position of model for many organizations working on the same field.

During 5 days, the 500 Forum attendees will have the opportunity to: network with professionals from the clean cookstoves and fuels sector; exchange ideas and experiences; learn new techniques for improving and measuring the effectiveness of their projects & gather the latest information on cutting edge research and funding opportunities. Site visits will also be organized to see the reality of the field, many of which are being facilitated by GERES Cambodia.
