Anticipating the health risks stemming from Covid-19 crisis and keen to protect the population as far as possible, our Malian office has taken the lead, putting in place a series of solidarity and security measures.<\/p>\n

In West Africa, healthcare systems may prove fragile and their ability to support the population may sometimes be limited. In Mali<\/a> in particular, Geres and its partners are adapting. We are striving to keep our social mission going, despite having to slow down or reorganize our activities.<\/p>\n

In the last few weeks, for example, MSF<\/a> (M\u00e9decins sans fronti\u00e8res) has been providing Covid-19 training for our teams and our partner AMEDD<\/a> (Association Malienne d\u2019\u00c9veil au D\u00e9veloppement Durable).[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.4.4″ min_height=”159px” custom_margin=”||3px|||” custom_padding=”0px|0px|6px|0px||” custom_padding_tablet=”|0px||0px” custom_padding_phone=”” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|tablet” link_option_url_new_window=”on”]<\/p>\n

The aim is to restart activities under safe conditions in mid-April and enable our teams to get the right prevention messages across to our contacts in the villages.<\/h3>\n

During this time, the green business areas<\/a> Geres supports in Mali, (a series of buildings constructed according to a bioclimatic model which host small businesses), are now responding to new needs\u00a0.<\/p>\n

The Jatropha<\/a> soaps produced at the Kons\u00e9gu\u00e9la Green Business Area\u00a0 <\/a>are now being used in the hand-washing kits supplied to make activities safer, while the sewing training centre at the Koury Green Business Area has turned to making masks in local cotton for use by anyone taking part in our field activities.<\/p>\n

Everyone mobilized, everyone in solidarity.<\/p>\n
