Geres role<\/h2>\n

This project aims to increase and improve the access to innovative electrical services of the underprivileged rural areas of Burundi, through the installation of solar micro-grids in 5 remote villages. This technology will guarantee a durable and cost-effective solution, smoothly integrated into the local conditions. The scope of this project also includes the design of an appropriate business model, that contemplates the presence of an \u201coperator\u201d, in charge of the management, operation and maintenance (M&O&M) of the installed micro-grid, acting as a private entity.<\/p>\n

The business model initially proposed by TTA considers the provision of electricity as the unique value offered to the beneficiaries of the micro-grid. The revenues collected respond to the consumption of electricity. This can represent an obstacle to the accomplishment of the financial sustainability of the project, due to the limits imposed by the local regulation on electrical fees.<\/p>\n

Geres prepared the business model upgrade and assessment of the local needs in term of electrical services, for solar isolated micro-grids, in five remote rural villages in Burundi.<\/p>\n
