The mission was part of the Africa4Climate project, a regional technical assistance programme implemented by Expertise France in four countries. Geres helped the GIC inter-municipal grouping to mainstream climate issues in its territorial development strategy. The support focused on energy, economic development, agriculture and ecosystem managemen.
The support programme was divided into three components:
- Building capacity to include, take into account and plan the climate change dimension in the programming, development and investment documents of the technical teams of the GIC and municipalities.
- Carrying out energy diagnostics in the logistical hubs of Tchéti and Oké-Ové.
- Capitalization, dissemination and ownership of agro-ecological and soil restoration practices at the level of the département.
